- Giving up previous activities like sports, homework, or hanging out with friends
- Declining grades
- Aggressiveness and irritability
- Disappearing money or valuables
- Feelings of depression or hopelessness
- Not caring about others
- Using deodorizers or incense in their room
- Avoid friends or family
- Using substances alone and on a regular basis
- Frequent hangovers
- Pressuring others to use substance
- Drinking and driving
- Taking risks
