Family Services Foundation (FSF) provides person-centered services that encourage growth in our clients, change their lives for the better, and enrich the local community. In the behavioral health area, we do this by providing residential rehabilitation services and day psychiatric rehabilitation to individuals who experience severe or chronic mental illness. We also provide Outpatient Mental Health Clinics services to those clients as well as the surrounding community. All three services includes attention to those who are Deaf, Deaf-Blind, or Hard-of-Hearing. Our staff is trained and certified in these areas and dedicated to helping those who seek our services.
Residential Rehabilitation Services
Our Residential Rehabilitation Program provides residential services to individuals with chronic or severe mental illness who require specialized help to return to independence. These services include:
- round-the-clock on-call emergency staff
- medication management
- independent living skills, like cooking, shopping, and budgeting
- daily living skills, such as personal hygiene and symptom management
- community activities
- entitlement benefit assistance, such as Social Security, SSI, SSDI, Food Stamps, and cash assistance.
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day Program
When an individual has been diagnosed with a chronic mental illness, the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day Program at FSF can provide a caring, structured atmosphere to move toward recovery. Our program offers groups, workshops, and classes to assist participants to become more independent. We believe that by being person-centered and planning driven, our program leads participants to more easily manage their lives, and overcome challenges.
Eligibility to the program is granted after assessment with one of our supervisors. Those who are coming to FSF from another program should bring their diagnosis with them for the assessment. While we do not accept private insurance for this program, we do serve clients on medical assistance.
Classes and training during the day are designed to assist individuals with their recovery, including anger management, money management, relaxation techniques, exercise, mental and emotional well-being, nutrition, problem solving, personal hygiene, and social and communication skills. Many activities take place in the community to facilitate integration and a return to independence.
Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC)
Our Outpatient Mental Health Clinic (OMHC) supports individuals in the community, including our residential and day rehabilitation clients, with psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, and medication management. We serve children, adolescents, and adults and provide interpreters who are fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) for those who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing. We take a person-centered approach to our services – with the goal of helping each person identify what is troubling them and then taking active steps towards healing. In addition to serving those in the community who are Medicaid or Medicare eligible, we also accept a number of private insurance providers and serve those who are uninsured as well.
Our OMHC staff, including a licensed psychiatrist, are clinically trained and certified to provide the following forms of therapy:
- Individual, Couples, and Family Counseling
- Medication Management
- Cognitive Behavior Therapy
- Solution-Focused Therapy
- Trauma-Informed Care
- Anger Management
- Art Therapy
